FIX: Messaging Service Custom Logon Account Information Is Replaced after You Install BizTalk Server 2000 SP1

If you have configured the BizTalk Server Messaging service to start under a different user or start manually instead of automatically, these configurations are lost when you install BizTalk Server 2000 SP1. This can cause problems when the configured account credentials are needed to access secure file shares, queues, and so on.

Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 SP1 uninstalls various components of BizTalk Server and reinstalls them with updated versions. During this uninstall and reinstall process, BizTalk Server 2000 SP1 does not keep track of the credentials.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 Service Pack 1a.

All Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 service packs released subsequent to Service Pack 1 (SP1) (beginning with the Post SP1 Rollup Hotfix) retain the credentials for which the BizTalk Messaging Service is configured to run under.
