Summary

Microsoft has released the latest update to Outlook for Mac for Office 365. This release is available to eligible Office 365 subscribers only.

This update provides the following improvements:
  • Repeated password prompts are no longer displayed for Office 365 Exchange Online accounts. 
  • When you import Rich Text Format (RTF) messages in PST files, the message body is imported correctly.
  • Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) accounts are imported when you import Outlook 2011 data.
  • Custom attribution format is displayed in local time instead of in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
  • Improved ability to retry Offline Address Book download when errors are encountered.
  • When you cancel a search, the search is canceled completely.
  • Shared folders that are opened by using the Other User’s Folder option are opened correctly.
  • Top crashes throughout the product are fixed.

Prerequisites

You must be running OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 or a later version.

How to obtain the update

  • Office 365 portal
    • Office 365 commercial customers can get the new Outlook for Mac through the Office 365 portal.

      To do this, click the gear icon in the portal, click Office 365 Settings, click Software, and then click the Outlook for Mac icon. Or, go directly to the Software page, and then click the Outlook for Mac icon.
    • Office 365 consumer subscribers can get the new Outlook for Mac on their My Account page.
  • Microsoft Download Center

    The update is also available for download from the Microsoft Download Center.

  • Microsoft AutoUpdate

    The update is also available from Microsoft AutoUpdate. AutoUpdate is a program that automatically keeps Microsoft software up-to-date. To use AutoUpdate, start a Microsoft Office program, and then on the Help menu, click Check for Updates.
