XADM: Exchange 2000 Search Folders Not Updated When New Folders Are Created

Symptoms

When you are viewing a search folder in an application top-level hierarchy (TLH) with the Web Storage System Explorer or server-side applications that use the Exchange OLE DB provider, new objects that should appear in the search folder do not. If you use Windows Explorer to examine drive M, the new objects are correctly displayed. If you regenerate the search folder, the new objects appear.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, apply Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1 (SP1).

Workaround

To work around this problem, you can programmatically perform a deep traversal of the search folder or rebuild the search folder.
