Symptoms

When posting a counting journal by using the "transfer all posting to a new journal" function in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1, you receive the following error message:
"Serial number already exists physically in the inventory. The journal is not posted and the update is canceled."

Resolution

The changes in the hotfix include checking the serial number before posting the counting journal.

Restart requirement

You must restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service after you apply the hotfix.
