FIX: HDMI is not the default display and the graphics driver crashes during the start in Windows Embedded Compact 2013

This article describes an issue that occurs when you try to select High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) from catalog on a Windows Embedded Compact 2013-based device. Before you install the update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

Assume that you use FreeScale i.MX6 Quad Sabre Lite in Windows Embedded Compact 2013, and you set the low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) panel as the default display in the board support package (BSP) batch file. When you try to select HDMI from catalog, the graphics driver crashes, and the board stops responding during the start.

Note HDMI should be set as the default display in FreeScale i.MX6 Quad Sabre Lite BSP.

Restart requirement

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:
  • On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
  • On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
