Office 365 setup freezes: Office is installing in the background (%)

Resolution

The setup usually hangs at 76% or 89% of completion. To solve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Remove the current installation of Office by running the Uninstall Microsoft Office wizard.
  2. Restart the computer.
  3. Install Office 365 again.

Cause

This problem occurs because the following installation file is corrupted:

\office\data\15.0.4641.1005\stream.x86.x-none.dat
