This article describes an issue that L3 cache size is incorrect in Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, Windows RT, or Windows Server 2012. A hotfix is available to resolve this issue. The hotfix has a prerequisite.

About this hotfix

After you apply this hotfix, Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, Windows RT, or Windows Server 2012 is compatible to the new chipset. The new chipset contains L3 cache that is larger than 16 megabytes (MB).

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

To apply this hotfix, you must have update 2919355 installed in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2.
