Agents in a response group cannot receive a call in a Lync Server 2013-based Lync client

Symptoms

This issue occurs on some agents whose presence states for the Response Group service are unknown. When this issue occurs, the agents do not receive a toast notification about the call in the Microsoft Lync client either.

Note
  • This issue may occur on a few agents in an environment that has lots of response group agents.
  • This issue will not occur on a call that does not use the Response Group service.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the December 2014 cumulative update for Lync Server 2013

This issue occurs because the status of the subscriptions from the Response Group service to the presence of the agent is throttled.
