Should I install this update?

  • This update was released on December 12, 2014 and offers a new build (version 5.1.31211.0) of Microsoft Silverlight for users of recalled version 5.1.31010.0. For more information about Silverlight, go to the What is Silverlight? section.

How to hide this update so that it does not appear again

Windows 8.1
  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Or, if you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click Search.
  2. In the search box, type Windows Update.
  3. Click Check for updates.
  4. After the scan for updates is completed, click the optional update link.
  5. In the Select updates to install section, right-click the update that you want to hide, and then click Hide update.
  6. Click OK.
Windows 8

  2. Tap or click Settings.
  3. In the search box, type Windows Update, and then click Install optional updates.
