November 2014 update for Lync Room System (KB3011144)

This update provides some improvements for Lync Room System.

Improvements that the update provides

This update provides the following improvements for Lync Room System:

Adds functionality to make public switch telephone network (PSTN) calls and adds a Find a contact button in the In-meeting dial pad.
Adds functionality to the "Where is my join button" feature so that users can create a meeting by using the existing meeting information from the console.
Adds functionality to reduce the number of Lync Room System restarts for future device updates that are later than the November 2014 update (version 15.12.01).
Adds functionality to monitor Lync Room Systems in a workgroup by using System Center Operations Manager.
Improves some UI colors on the console and front of room screens. Before the UI colors are improved, some buttons appear dimmed and disabled even though they are active.

To install the update for Lync Room System, use one of the following methods:

Online update

To install an update on a Lync Room System device that has Internet access, follow these steps:

Log on to Lync Room System in Administrator mode by using administrator credentials. To restart Lync Room System in Administrator mode, follow these steps:
1. In meeting mode, select Options at the pre-meeting screen.
2. To display a prompt for credentials, select Settings.
3. Enter administrator credentials at the prompt.
4. At the Windows logon screen, enter administrator credentials to display the LRS Admin Console.
Click the Web Updates tab.
Under Microsoft updates, select Download from Microsoft Update server.
Under OEM updates, select Download from OEM server.
To update automatically during the daily maintenance time, select the Automatic updates check box under Update frequency.
Click Apply and Restart to save your changes.

Note If you change any settings, and you want to apply updates manually, follow these steps:

Click Apply & Restart.
Restart LRS, and then log on to LRS in Administrator mode by using administrator credentials.
Click the Web Updates tab again.
Select Check Updates and Install.
Click OK to restart LRS when you are prompted.
