When you have a computer that is running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, you may encounter one of the following issues.
Issue 1
Assume that you have a Group Policy Object (GPO) that copies .lnk shortcut files to the following location:

Assume that the symbolic link of a file is created by running the mklink command. When you try to double-click the link in Windows Explorer, the link cannot be opened, andyou receive an error message that resembles the following:
