Update adds search box to new tab pages in Internet Explorer 11

About this update

This article describes the feature enhancements that are provided in this update for Internet Explorer 11. After you install this update, the following feature is added:
  • When you open a new tab page in Internet Explorer 11, the page includes a search box. This new feature has the same search functionality as the address bar and is intended to help you perform searches more quickly.

    Notes
    • This feature is added only if your default search provider supports it. If your default search provider does not support this feature, you can try to update your search provider configuration by going to the following Internet Explorer website:

    • This feature is enabled only if the search functionality of the address bar is also enabled.
