Symptoms

When you configure Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 with four or more worker threads, a Key Exclusive lock may occur on the BizTalk SQL Server database, InterchangeBTM. This lock does not occur if the number of worker threads is set to 1. No associated error is reported in the Event Viewer.

More information

To configure the number of worker threads used by BizTalk Server:
  1. Click the Start button, point to Programs, click Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000, and then click BizTalk Server Administration.
  2. Expand the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 snap-in and the BizTalk Server Group icon so that the BizTalk Server icon is visible.
  3. Right-click the BizTalk Server icon, and then click Properties.
  4. In the Maximum number of worker threads per processor allowed box, enter a number between 1 and 128.
