Display identification number may overlap for certain DPI on a dual-monitor setup in Windows 8.1

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You try to set up a dual-monitor on a computer that runs Windows 8.1.
  • You select display identification on a monitor.
  • The DPI of this monitor is the same as the ratio of its resolution to the other's DPI. For example, this monitor has 150% DPI, and resolution is 1.5 times bigger than the other's DPI.
In this scenario, the display identification number may still overlap.
