Corporate navigation may fail in Internet Explorer 11

Symptoms

When you browse a webpage that contains a corporate navigation, the navigation may fail and cause the tab to close in Internet Explorer 11.

Resolution

Update information

To resolve this problem, install the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To do this, go to Microsoft Update. Additionally, see the technical information about the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer.

More Information

This issue occurs because of a synchronous COM call is made during the tab navigation and enables a reentrancy that causes new tab navigation before the ongoing tab navigation finishes.
