FIX: Access violation when you close a .NET Compact Framework 3.5 application in Windows Embedded Compact 7

This article describes an issue that occurs when the font is specifically set in a .NET Compact Framework 3.5 application in Windows Embedded Compact 7. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

Assume that you have a .NET Compact Framework 3.5 application on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device. The font is specifically set in this application. When you close the application, an access violation exception occurs.

Note The issue does not occur if the font is not specifically set (it uses the default font instead), or is specifically set multiple times.

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:
  • On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
  • On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
