Windows Journal crashes when you import a Word document that contains pictures Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have update 2971850 installed on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • You try to import a Microsoft Word document that contains pictures to Windows Journal on the computer.
In this scenario, Windows Journal crashes.

How to obtain this hotfix

To resolve this issue, we have released hotfixes for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

Hotfix for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
