Error 0x80070001 when you try to optimize a CSV volume in Windows Server 2012 R2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

You have a Windows Server 2012 R2 cluster.
You set up a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) together with a thin-provisioned volume in a dynamic I/O redirection environment.
You open the "Optimize drives" window, you select the CSV + thin-provisioned volume, and then you click Optimize.

In this scenario, nothing happens. Additionally, the following error message is logged in the Application log:

Hotfix information
