FIX: The notification database grows with every system restart in Windows Embedded Compact 2013 with persistent storage

View products that this article applies to.

This article describes an issue in which the notification database keeps growing after every system restart on a Windows Embedded Compact 2013-based device with persistent storage.
A configurable registry key is provided:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ObjectStore]
"DBVolCleanFlag"=dword:0
When the key value is set to 1, a new notification database file is created on every restart. This behavior can prevent database growth.
An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.
