Connection is lost when you access an RD Session Host server by using RDP in Windows Server 2012

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have two or more Windows Server 2012-based computers that run as remote desktop license servers.
  • You configure Per Device licensing mode on a Remote Desktop Session Host (RD Session Host) server.
  • You try to access an RD Session Host server from a client computer by using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
In this scenario, the license servers freeze, and the connection to the RD Session Host server is lost.

Resolution
