Incremental Cube Processing Does Not Function Correctly

Symptoms

When you attempt to set the properties of a Report Preparation (Commerce Server) task in a SQL Server Data Transformation Server (DTS) package, the option for Incremental Cube Processing may not function correctly. The task always performs Full Cube Processing regardless of the option that is selected.

Resolution

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 1.

More information

In Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 1, the Incremental processing setting is modified to perform an actual incremental process. The Full processing setting deletes the cube before re-creating it. A new option, Refresh processing, is added that does not delete the original cube until the new cube is built.
