FIX: Time format update takes a long time when you change the system locale on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device

View products that this article applies to.

This article describes an issue that occurs when you change the system locale on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device. The clock on the taskbar takes a long time (0-60 seconds) to update after the system locale is changed. It is designed to be updated every 30 seconds by a Windows Timer. A hotfix is available to resolve this issue. The hotfix requests all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.

Cause

This issue occurs because a flag is not set for the locale change. Therefore, the locale change is reflected every 60 seconds. This causes the clock to update every 60 seconds when the minute changes.
