FIX: "Error on page" error in Internet Explorer on a Windows Embedded Compact 2013-based device

This article describes an issue that occurs when you call the MsgBox function in VBScript in Internet Explorer in Windows Embedded Compact 2013. A hotfix is available to resolve this issue. The hotfix requests all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a Windows Embedded Compact 2013-based image that contains the following components:
    • Internet Explorer  
    • "Scripting / VBScript" (SYSGEN_VBSCRIPT)

  • You run the image on a device.
  • You open an HTML page that calls the MsgBox function in VBScript in Internet Explorer.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Error on page.

Restart requirement

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:
  • On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
  • On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.

This update does not replace any other updates.
