When a user attempts to send a plain-text message to an external Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) or Internet mail recipient by using Microsoft Outlook 2000 or Microsoft Outlook 2002 with the Exchange Server information service in the profile, the message may be received as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).
Additionally, in Exchange System Manager, in the Internet Message Formats properties, on the Message Formats tab, the message encoding is set to Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME), or Provide body as HTML, or both. On the Advanced tab, Exchange rich-text format is set as Determined by individual user settings.
