Incorrect candidate selected in Japanese IME when you convert a Kana in the Search pane in Windows RT 8.1 or Windows 8.1

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a computer that is running Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2.
  • You type hiragana characters in the Search pane by using Microsoft Input Method Editor (IME) in Japanese.
  • You try to convert the hiragana characters to kanji characters by tapping on the candidate that is under the Japanese IME.
In this scenario, when you select the candidate by using touch in the Japanese IME, you cannot select the candidate correctly.

Resolution
