FIX: MRU option value is wrong when a Windows Embedded Compact 2013-based device sends the LCP packet to the PPP server

Symptoms

Assume that you have a Windows Embedded Compact 2013-based device that negotiates to connect to a Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) server by using Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP). The device sends the LCP (Link Control Protocol) packet together with the MRU (Maximum Receive Unit) option that equals the incorrect value of 65534.

Note There are two expected values when the device sends LCP packet of MRU option:
  • When you have a straight PPP connection, the MRU is 1492.
  • When you have a VPN connection, the MRU is 1392.

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
