Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a solid state hybrid drive (SSHD) that is running on a Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2-based computer.
  • The SSHD has less than a 12 GB cache.
In this scenario, the computer does not use the caching medium on the SSHD. Therefore, the SSHD appears slow.

Cause

This issue occurs because the SSHD uses a low priority when it performs the speed test.
