Incorrect version of Integration Components displayed in the VMs on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V server

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a Windows Server 2012 R2 based Hyper-V server.
  • A Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP-based Virtual Machine (VM) is installed on the server.
  • You install the Integration Components package.
In this scenario, you find that the Integration Components version is displayed as the following in Add or Remove Programs:
Hyper-V Integration Services (version 6.2.9600.16384)

However, the correct version number is as follows:
Hyper-V Integration Services (version 6.3.9600.16384)

More Information

This is a display problem. The correct version of the Integration Components is installed. The functionality of the Integration Components is not affected by this issue.
