Symptoms

When you query the list of connected targets by using the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator interface, the iscsicli.exe command-line tool, or programmatically through the iSCSI Discovery Library API, the list may be truncated or empty.

Cause

This issue occurs because the RPC interface that is used to transmit this information internally limits how much data that can be transported to 256 kilobytes (KB). If the list of targets exceeds this value, the list may be truncated or empty.
