Introduction

This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution if an attacker convinces a user to open or preview a specially crafted Microsoft Word file in an affected version of Office.

Improvements and fixes

This security update also contains a fix for the following nonsecurity issue:
  • Assume that you apply security update 2883013. Then, you open a document that has fields in a placeholder text in a content control in Word 2010. In this situation, the fields do not automatically update, even if you enter design mode.
