This update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution when an Office file that is located in the same network directory as a specially crafted library file is opened.
Improvements and fixes
This update also contains fixes for the following nonsecurity issues:- If you type text into an embedded Word object in a Microsoft Excel workbook or a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, Word stops scrolling automatically after some time. Therefore, the last text that you typed may not appear or may appear only after you click the object.
- Assume that you selected Show All Revisions Inline under Balloons in Show Markup under the Review tab in Word 2013. When you try to print one of multiple pages by selecting Print Current Page in Word, only page 1 is printed, regardless of the page that you select.
- Word 2013 may freeze when you set a document that has hidden text to the right-to-left text direction.
- After you create a document that is based on a template that begins with a number sign (#) that is located under a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) share path, all files that begin with an underscore (_) in the share path are deleted without any notification.
- In Word 2013, the Suppress extra line spacing at bottom of page or Suppress extra line spacing at top of page check box is not selected under Layout Options when WordPerfect 6.x for Windows, WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS, or Word for the Macintosh 5.x is selected under the Lay out this document as if created in drop-down list.
