Introduction

A platform hotfix is available for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2. The build number of this platform hotfix is 36556.

Platform hotfixes are cumulative, which means that the latest hotfix includes all previously released hotfixes. Therefore, you should always install the latest update rollup.

Note You may have to compile the objects in your database after you apply this hotfix.

This hotfix resolves the following problems:
IDTitle
358339 Lookup does not work when fields have a conditional relation set.
358357 You do not receive an error or receive an internal error 1434 when trying to rename the ID of a table.
358400 Filters applied on an Option field are retained in drill-down pages.
358404 Table object cannot be compiled successfully with a tenant that has not been synchronized to latest version by CSIDE Development Environment (finsql.exe) after conversion to version 36281.
358673 Windows Client list page crash with "Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value 'xxxxx' to data type int" error when a BLOB field is sorted.
358731 Windows Client report an error that a page must close when SORTING on FlowField types.
358732 Query date filter does not work.
358820 DateTime FORMAT(0DT,0,'<Year4><Month,2><Day,2><Hours24><Minutes,2><Second,2>') expression does not give the expected result.
358832 A regression in the FORMAT(0D,8,'<day,2><month,2><year4>') result.
358972 Administration cmdlet Set-NAVserverPermision cannot assign direct permissions.
358978 SystemString.Replace method goes into conflict with Runtime (7.0). Additionally, you receive the error:
A call to Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Runtime.NavText.Replace failed with this message: The type of one or more arguments does not match the method's parameter type.

How to obtain the Microsoft Dynamics NAV hotfix or update files

After you request a Microsoft Dynamics NAV hotfix, a hyperlink will be sent to you in an e-mail.


The e-mail will contain a hyperlink. You can use the hyperlink to download the Microsoft Dynamics NAV hotfix or the update files. When you click the hyperlink, the File Download – Security Warning dialog box opens. Then, you are prompted to run, to save, or to cancel the download.


If you click Run, the files start the download and the extraction process. You must specify a folder for the new files, and then provide the password.


If you click Save, you must specify a path for saving the compressed file. When you open the file that you saved, you are prompted to specify a path for the files.

If you click Cancel, the download process stops.

How to install a Microsoft Dynamics NAV platform hotfix

The Microsoft Dynamics NAV platform hotfixes are made available as single files. To install a Microsoft Dynamics NAV hotfix, you must replace the existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV installation files with the hotfix files. To do this, follow these steps.

Step 1: Replace the files in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server installation

In the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server installation, replace the files by using the hotfix files.

To replace the existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV files, follow these steps:
  1. Stop the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server service.
  2. Copy the files in the NST folder from the files that you downloaded.
  3. Paste the files into the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server installation directory. The Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server is usually installed in the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\71\Service
  4. Click Yes to overwrite the files in the directory.
  5. Start the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server service.

Step 2: Replace the files in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV RoleTailored (Windows) client installation

In the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client installation, replace the files by using the hotfix files.

To replace these files, follow these steps:
  1. Close the Microsoft Dynamics NAV RoleTailored client.
  2. Copy the files in the RTC folder from the files that you downloaded.
  3. Paste the files into the Microsoft Dynamics NAV RoleTailored client installation directory. The Microsoft Dynamics NAV RoleTailored client is usually installed in the following directory:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\71\RoleTailored Client
  4. Click Yes to overwrite the files in the directory.

Note These steps must be followed for each Microsoft Dynamics NAV RoleTailored (Windows) client.
