Symptoms

When you run a mixed mode cluster that has both Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 nodes, and you administer the cluster from a node running Windows 2000, you may receive the following error message:
An error occurred attempting to get properties for the ResourceName resource:
The data is invalid.
Error ID: 13 (0000000d)

Cause

This problem can occur because the PersistentState registry value of a resource has been set to the new Windows Server 2003-supported -1 value. A server, however, that runs the Windows 2000 version of Cluster Administrator (CluAdmin.exe), may not be able to read this value.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, ignore the error messages and the cluster can continue to operate correctly, or manually change the start value to a value that is recognized by downlevel cluster nodes.

Status

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 SP3 Advanced Server and Microsoft Windows 2000 SP3 Datacenter Server.
