Update for Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

This update installs the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime. This is required to run Microsoft Office-based solutions that are built by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012, and Visual Studio 2013.

This update resolves the following issues:
  • For Visual Studio Tools for Office add-ins that use the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), customers who use touch-enabled devices experience a 15-20 second delay when they close Office applications.
  • For developers who use SHA 256 code-signing certificates, the installation Trust Prompt would incorrectly display “Unknown Publisher” even when the publisher is fully trusted.
Note The update will automatically configure VSTO to use the same language as your copy of Windows. If you need an additional language pack (For example, if your copy of Windows uses more than one language setting, or if you switch from one language setting to another after you install the VSTO runtime), you can find the language packs here.
