NFS client can’t reconnect to NFS server in Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install the Client for NFS component on a computer that is running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, and then the computer acts as a Network File System (NFS) client.
  • The NFS client disconnects from an NFS server, and then tries to reconnect to the server. 
In this scenario, this issue occurs, and the CPU usage of the NFS client is higher than expected.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 file information notes
