Intune supports Windows 8.1 Core and Windows 8.1 Core SL editions

You now can use Intune OMA-DM agent to manage Windows 8.1 Core and Windows 8.1 Core SL-based Mobile devices. However, there are some known issues when you use Intune to manage Windows 8.1 Home SL devices.

MDM Hardware Inventory on this device reports version numbers instead of Windows version names

The issue primarily affects the display name of operating systems. For example, MDM Hardware Inventory displays Windows 6.3 instead of Windows 8.1.

Applications that require side loading key (SLK) appear in Windows SSP on these devices

The Information Worker sees an appx/appxbundle as installable whereas this Windows Edition does not allow for installation of any application requiring SLK.

On these devices, SLK usage count increases

When a Windows 8.1 Core or Windows 8.1 Core SL-based device is enrolled, device is assigned an SLK and SLK usage count increases. However, the Windows edition does not support SLK.
