Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2.
  • You use the REAgentC.exe tool to disable the WinRE environment.
In this scenario, the REAgentC.exe tool always returns 0, even if an error occurs.

To resolve this issue for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2, install update rollup 2919355.
