DNS corporate network name resolution fails after you connect a Windows 8.1-based computer to a Check Point VPN server

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Windows 8.1.
  • You have a Check Point virtual private network (VPN) server that has multiple domain name system (DNS) suffixes configured.
  • You connect your computer to the Check Point VPN server.
In this scenario, multiple namespaces are passed to the VPN client incorrectly. Therefore, the name resolution policy table (NRPT) becomes corrupted, and all corporate network name resolutions fail.
