You cannot connect to Microsoft Social Engagements to see or configure Social Insights control in Microsoft CRM

Symptoms

If third-party cookies are blocked by the security settings of your browser, when you try to connect to Microsoft Social Engagements to see or configure Social Insights control in Microsoft CRM 2013, Microsoft CRM 2015 or Microsoft CRM Online, you may receive the following error message:
Connection Problems:

We're sorry. We can't connect to Microsoft Social Engagements right now because it's down or not responding, or there's a problem with your configuration. Contact your system administrator.

Cause

1. This issue occurs if all domains that will connect to Social Engagement are not on the Allowed Domain list


2. This issue occurs because third-party cookies are what Microsoft Dynamics CRM uses to connect to Microsoft Social Engagements servers when they make requests for information such as search topics or visuals. Your browser provides various settings for how to handle cookies that are set on your device.

Resolution


1. To Resolve this issue you must add your Dynamics CRM URL to the list of Allowed domain in Microsoft Social Engagement.
a. Access the Microsoft Social Engagement

b. Go to Settings.

c. Click on "Allowed Domains"

d. Add your CRM Organization URL *For CRM Online add https://*.dynamics.com


 
2. To resolve this issue, you can change your browser settings to allow third-party cookies. 

Internet Explorer

Go to Tools, click Internet Options, and then select Privacy.

Firefox

Go to Settings, click Advanced Settings, select Privacy, and then select Content Settings.

Google Chrome

Go to Settings, click Privacy, check the box next to Accept cookies from sites and set Accept third-party cookies to Always.
