PageMediaSize does not take effect when you print from an app in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2.
  • You try to print a document by using a modern app.
  • The PageMediaSize valuespecified in the print options from the Devices charmis set to a value that differs from what was specified in the app.
In this scenario, the document is printed on paper of a size that differs from what the modern app specified.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install update 2919355. For more information about how to obtain update 2919355, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Note If the printer does not support a certain PageMediaSize value, then you cannot select that valueas default even after this hotfix is installed.
