Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2 freezes when you use a Bluetooth LE device

Symptoms

When you use a Bluetooth low energy (LE) device such as a mouse or keyboard on a computer that is running Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2, the memory usage of the Wudfhost.exe process keeps increasing. Then, after some hours, the operating system freezes.

Cause

This issue occurs because of a memory leak in the Bluetooth LE HID mini-driver (HidBthLE.dll).

Resolution
