An Edge Subscription file from an Exchange 2013 Edge Transport server is rejected by an Exchange 2007 Hub Transport server


Symptoms

Assume that you are running a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Hub Transport server in an environment that has an Exchange Server 2013 Edge Transport server deployed. Then, you try to export an Edge Subscription file from the Edge Transport server and import the file to the Hub Transport server by running the New-EdgeSubscription cmdlet. In this situation, the Hub Transport server rejects the subscription file.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Exchange Server 2007 Hub Transport server is restricted from accepting the Edge Subscription file from the Exchange Server 2013 Edge Transport server.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:
2917522 Description of Update Rollup 13 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3
