Shortcut menu items flicker as you move the mouse pointer over them in a RemoteApp in Windows

Symptoms

On a computer that's running Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, or Windows Server 2012, you publish a RemoteApp application. However, when you use the RemoteApp application, you discover that shortcut menu items flicker as you move the mouse pointer over them.

Resolution

To resolve this issue in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2, install update 2955164.

To resolve this issue in Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, install the hotfix that is described in the "Hotfix information" section in this article.
