The Warehouse Location assigned to a Shipper defaults a warehouse location where the quantity available is 0

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Order Management for Microsoft Dynamics SL:

  • You open Inventory Warehouse Bin Locations (10.340.00) and setup two warehouse locations with the same Pick Priority.
  • You open Sales Orders (40.100.00) and create two sales orders for the inventory item.
  • You open Shippers (40.110.00) and create a shipper for the first sales order.  You click the Bin/Lot/Ser button and assign a warehouse location for this item.
  • Without closing the Shippers screen, you click New to create a shipper for the second order.  You click the Bin/Lot/Ser button.

When you do this, you notice that the warehouse location defaults to the warehouse location entered on the first shipper, the one that now has a zero quantity.
