Improvements and fixes
- Improves reliability for receiving information on the network in real-time collaboration.
- Poor performance that occurs during sessions of real-time collaboration will now end the real-time collaboration session.
- This update contains fixes for the following nonsecurity issues:
- When you open a document in protected mode on a SharePoint server in Word 2016, you can't edit the document in real-time collaboration.
- When you try to download the external content of an email message in a group folder in Outlook 2016, Outlook 2016 may crash.
- When you try to download external images of a conversation in an Exchange group in Outlook 2016, Outlook 2016 may crash.
- Issue is resolved with misleading notifications for end of real-time collaboration session in Word 2016.
- When you edit a paragraph that is above a newly added paragraph in real-time collaboration in Word 2016, data duplication and loss might occur in these paragraphs.
- When you edit a revmark table that was inserted or deleted, or a revmark is moved to or from text in real-time collaboration in Word 2016, conflicts, data duplication, and loss might occur.
- After you experience a merge conflict in a document during a real-time collaboration session in Word 2016, later saves may be delayed.
- Transient save errors may end the real-time collaboration session in Word 2016.
- When you reply or forward an HTML email message that contains a URL in Outlook 2016, the URL is truncated unexpectedly.
- A real-time collaboration session in Word 2016 does not start if a document is opened for editing from read-only mode after there is a newer version available on the server.
- When you open the styles gallery of a Mongolian language document in an Office 2016 application that has the Arabic language pack installed, the Office 2016 application may crash.
- When you pause on or select a caption button (minimize, maximize, and close) in read mode, the button is difficult to read.
- Conflicts during real-time collaboration in Word 2016 may hide other users’ changes temporarily.
- When you edit right-to-left text in Word, an incorrect selection might be drawn if you extend selection to reach the edge of the text in the opposite direction. In this case, the drawn selection does not correspond to the real one. And, if you use the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+P keyboard shortcuts, text is pasted that is not drawn as selected.
