On a computer that is running Windows 8 or Windows RT, you may experience the following issues.

Note A spotlight advertisement for upgrading should be displayed on the home page of the Windows Store.
Note If you wait for 15 minutes or longer and then browse away from and back to the home page of Windows Store, you may see the spotlight advertisement for the upgrade.

Issue 1
In the Windows Store, you try to upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 or from Windows RT to Windows RT 8.1. However, you cannot find a way to perform the upgrade.Note A spotlight advertisement for upgrading should be displayed on the home page of the Windows Store.
Issue 2
After you click the Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1 upgrade notification, the Windows Store is opened automatically. However, a few seconds later, the home page of the Windows Store is displayed without the update spotlight.Note If you wait for 15 minutes or longer and then browse away from and back to the home page of Windows Store, you may see the spotlight advertisement for the upgrade.
