AppCache fallback page is not displayed when you try to open a noncached webpage in Internet Explorer 10

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use Windows Internet Explorer 10 to go to a website.
  • The website is configured to use an HTML5 AppCache fallback page.
  • The computer is disconnected from the Internet, or you configure Internet Explorer to work offline.
  • You try to open a noncached webpage on the website.
In this scenario, you receive the "This page can't be displayed" error message. However, you should be directed to the fallback page.

To resolve this issue, install the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To do this, go to Microsoft Update.
