FIX: Bluetooth "Page Timeout" is changed unexpectedly when "Link Supervision Timeout" is changed on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device

Symptoms

When the Bluetooth "Link Supervision Timeout" parameter is changed on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device, the Windows Embedded Compact 7 Bluetooth stack will also change the "Page Timeout" parameter, which does not meet the Bluetooth specification.

Note "Link Supervision Timeout" is a per-handle or per-link parameter, while "Page Timeout" is a global parameter that is not link-specific. Therefore, a device should not change the "Page Timeout" parameter in response to a "Link Supervision Timeout" change. This change in "Page Timeout" causes unexpected side-effects for the device’s ability to establish a Bluetooth connection with other Bluetooth devices.

Restart requirement

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:
  • On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
  • On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.

This update does not replace any other updates.
