Scheduled task in Windows restarts unexpectedly after computer restarts

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You configure a scheduled task on a Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2-based computer.
  • The Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed setting of the task is selected.
  • The task starts as scheduled.
  • You restart the computer immediately.
In this scenario, the task starts again after several minutes.

Cause

This issue occurs because the task state information is not loaded after the restart.

Update information
