Visual Studio crashes when you try to export a Transaction Server assembly as XML

Symptoms

When you try to export a Microsoft Transaction Server assembly as an XML file, Microsoft Visual Studio Designer crashes and generates an error message. Therefore, the XML file is not created.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Cobol redefines are not processed correctly when they are exported to XML.

Resolution

The hotfix that resolves this issue is included in cumulative update package 9 for Host Integration Server 2010.

More Information

A similar issue may occur if you try to export the Transaction Server assembly by using the XmlImportExport.exe command line tool. In this case, although the tool fails to create an XML file, you do not receive an error message.
